Artist's Comments

When my girlfriend arrived in Australia just over a week ago, she got me this great set of Prismacolor pencils. Some of them were water-soluble graphite ones, so I had to give them a go. I used watercolour paper, which is super thick and grainy, and I quite like the look it gave it. It also really cut down the time it took to draw (about 2-3 hours). Expect a few more like this :)

This is a beautiful portrait of James Dean.
Your right about the grainy texture, it makes the art work even more realistic.
The stubble on his chin and jaw line looks sexy if you don't mind me saying,
and the hair has fantastic highlights,
I love the tonal range too.
I'd love to see you do comissioned art work, you are very gifted.

Great work!
The pencils give an interesting look, sort of a blend between ordinary graphites and watercolor. Neat!
